Wooden Garage - Early Learning Centre
£45
Ted “BASH! BASH! BASH! CRAAAAASH!”
Lillie “You need to park them *nicely* Ted”
At £45 the first words that came to mind when this landed on the doorstep for Ted’s birthday were very special words that I couldn’t possibly repeat on a website of this nature. The seemingly poorly machined holes, flimsy wooden pegs and handful of screws that hold everything together appeared hugely inadequate (Mummy would like to mention that SHE put the thing together single handedly) and I fully expected to be making a swift return to our local ELC with a bag full of splinters and an angry tone within a matter of days.
Not so however, this beauty has well and truly stood the test of toddler. Not only has it survived several attempts to snap off the helipad but it also appears capable of withstanding Ted kneeling on parking level 2 like a scene from some 1950s B-movie .. “RRRAAAH” - Ted. Impressive indeed.
In addition it has already paid for itself in terms of the sheer amount of time that it will occupy any toddler who sets eyes on it with its simple ramps, lift on a string and petrol station accessories. This is just a great example of a classic toy that will never go out of fashion and coupled with the fact that you can pick up toy cars for a matter of pence in most supermarkets these days, its something that the kids will keep coming back to for years to come.
It also gives us Dads a chance to dig out that bag full of old Corgi cars from the loft and realise how old we really are when you put your battered original Bat Mobile next to a shiny new convertible VW Beetle.
They don’t make ‘em like they used to.
