Colours Are Brighter: Songs For Children - And Grown Ups Too
£7.99 (iTunes)
Lillie: “wow .. that’s some nice good music”
Daddy: “GO GO NINJA DINOSAAAAUUUURRRR”
Here at The Toddler Review we’re a discerning bunch when it comes to music, which is why when we got this CD through the post it was an instant hit. Not a single nursery rhyme or predictable Mozart re-hash to be heard .. just really good quality and mostly original music for kids. Hurrah.
From the slightly sinister Kraftwerk-esque brilliance of “Tidy Up Tidy Up” by The Barcelona Pavillion to more traditional kids ditties including a “Pooh Trilogy” from The Divine Comedy and Belle and Sebastian’s “The Monkeys Are Breaking Out Of The Zoo”, this is a fantastic introduction to a range of musical genres and something Mummy and Daddy are happy to listen to in the car as well. “Go Go Ninja Dinosaur” (or “Ginger Ginger Dinosaur” as Lillie calls it) by Four Tet featuring Princess Watermelon is Daddy’s personal fave.
What’s more it’s all for charidy too, with proceeds from the album sales going to Save The Children. Find out more at www.coloursarebrighter.com.
