Cantaloop Pregnancy Bras

£18 (£26 for drop cup nursing bra)
Lillie: *holding up a bra and pointing at the cups* ‘Mummy. THIS is where you put boobs in, just here look.’
Since Mummy is taking advantage of being able to wear bras which don’t open at the cup and even come with (shock! horror!) underwire the testing of the new undies from Cantaloop (a play on the word ‘cantilever’ I wonder?) falls to one of our very favourite Mummies Shelley Thompson AKA Elliott’s Mummy, the recent recipient of baby Zach…
The Cantaloop maternity bra, ‘fresh from Scandinavia: home of design’, is very comfy and relatively supportive.
I didn’t have this to wear before I had my little boy, but have been wearing it since, usually in the evenings after I’ve finished feeding the little one for the day (as this isn’t the opening nursing bra, though one is available for £26) and to sleep in. When breastfeeding, I think you need something supportive in bed, but not a normal every day bra can be far too restrictive and uncomfortable, which this isn’t.
The only problem with this bra is the size and shape of it with regards to your clothes. It’s more like a sports bra, and so despite being seamless is quite visible under most tops, the straps are high up on the shoulders and the front of the bra is quite high too so pokes above anything cut lower than a t shirt. I wouldn’t feel particularly comfortable going anywhere special in this bra, and I don’t think it’s really supportive enough for that. For lazy days and evenings and sleeping in though, great!
Cantaloop Bras are available here.
