Aquasolari Washable Bed Pad

aquasolari washable bed padRRP £29.99, fits average single bed

“It’s nice and soft and cosy and nice…and I can play on my bed. I need to concentrate.” - Lillie
“Disposable bed pads! There’s something else for landfill!” - Daddy, in his eco-concious phase

When Lillie is 13 she’ll Google her name and come across this review. She’ll hate me forever. Why? Because I’m going to admit that she hasn’t got the best record in toilet training. There have been times when we’ve washed upwards of five pairs of pants a day and Mummy and Daddy have felt themselves drawn back to nappies…even now she’s 3.

Nighttimes have also seen bleary eyed Mum & Dad with their dressing gowns on inside out ripping sheets off of beds and pulling armfuls of linen out of the cupboard in the hunt for another clean set of bedding. It’s no doubt a scenario familiar to many a toilet training parent as well as those of older bed wetters.

At £29.99 the Aquasolari Washable Bed Pad may seem a little steep but I’ll tell you here and now - BUY TWO. Unlike those horrid, sweaty, crispy plastic sheets Aquasolari is all plush and soft, absorbing accidents rather than keeping them on the surface where they can give ashamed kiddies a nasty rash. And washable at up to 90oC (parenting can never be 100% eco-friendly ok?) at least 200 times. Much cheaper in the long run than those disposable numbers. Not to mention the fact of a polar bear logo which pretty much sold the whole idea to Lil…who said kids were fickle?

What else do you sensible folks (those like Daddy with two page pro/con spreadsheets for each possible purchase) need to know? Aquasolari Bed Pads have wings. Yes wings, a la panty liners, which keep the pad in place meaning no uncomfortable crinkles and crumples. Which means a good night’s sleep for toddler and a good night’s sleep for Mummy and Daddy.

It may be a coiincidence, it may not, but ever since the addition of the Aquasolari Bed Pad to her evening routine Lillie’s not had a single overnight accident. It’s probably something to do with those polar bears…
