“What is that little tub for Daddy?” - Lillie
“It’s like lip balm but for your nose” - Daddy

Like many people I’m a perennial sufferer of hayfever and like many people I’ve tried pretty much anything and everything to combat that pesky pollen. So I’m not one to “sniff” at any new remedies that are sent my way.

Hay Max is a natural balm that when applied beneath the nostriholes (as Lil calls them) creates a barrier which traps pollen before it enters the body, thus reducing your chances of having an allergic reaction. A similar principle to fly tape, but more comfortable … especially for a moustache wearer. It’s available in four variations (Aloe Vera, Lavender, Pure and Frankincense) which all perform the same function, although the Lavender version is reputed to also help with snoring (take note Mummy).

I’ve been using the Aloe Vera version today for the first time and have to say that it does seem to work. When applied regularly the number of uncontrollable sneezing fits was definitely below average and other related symptoms (itchy eyes, itchy roof of the mouth … or is that just me?) also subsided significantly. The only thing I would say is that for a bloke, the little tub it comes in is pretty inconvenient for putting in your pocket, especially if you wear skinny jeans, but that’s what Mummy’s handbag is for.

Definitely a useful companion to more traditional drug based hayfever treatments and safe for pregnant and breast feeding women and the kids too.
